COLI-MAX-25COMPOSITIONEach ml contains; Colistin (as sulfate) 250mg INDICATIONS:Coli-Max25 is indicated for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by or associated with bacteria sensitive to Colistin, such as Escherichia coli, especially in poultry (including laying hens), rabbits and calves. Coli-Max is highly effective against Gram-negative bacteria, including: Aerobacter, Escherichia coli, Hemophilus spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella spp, Pseudomonas, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Bordetella spp., Vibrio spp. and Paracolon bacteria.Coli-Max25 has a powerful bactericidal action against Colistin sensitive bacteria, both multiplying and resting susceptible bacteria and it interacts strongly with phospholipids in the bacterial cell membrane, penetrating the membrane and radically disrupting its permeability and function.Coli-Max25 protects effect against the adverse effects of endotoxins, due to powerful action of Colistin has to bind and neutralize the endotoxins produced by toxigenic strains of Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp.PROPERTIES:Coli-Max25 administrated by oral route is very safe, well tolerated and has no systemic or local adverse effects, being poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Under normal conditions, <0.5% of the administered oral dose is absorbed from gastrointestinal tract, therefore the antibacterial action of Coli-Max25 against sensitive bacteria remains located in the enteric tract. The drug is rapidly eliminated via faeces.Coli-Max25 dissolves rapidly and completely, producing a highly stable solution.Coli-Max25 solutions are stable at acid pH, thus maintaining full effectiveness throughout the entire period in the gastrointestinal tract.Coli-Max25 be combined with other antibiotics, in the case of multi-organisms infections, thereby obtaining a systemic activity and/or to broadening the spectrum of activity (except polymyxins). No interaction with other medicaments.A special characteristic of Coli-Max is the lack of resistance by sensitive bacteria due to its specific mode of action. DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:To be administered by oral in drinking water.Poultry (Treatment): 30000 IU /kg b.w or 1/ml into 4 liters. STORAGE: Preserve it in a dry, fresh and protected from light place.
